The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is hiring for a temporary State Fair Worker position to work at the New York State Fairgrounds. State Fair Workers perform a variety of tasks in support of event parking and safety on the New York State Fairgrounds. Specifically, these positions perform the following:
• Greet and assist visitors with directions to parking areas and in locating various buildings on the property. Provides information on general policies regarding such areas as parking, grounds, facility use, and fees for parking and events.
• Controls access and directs vendors, patrons, and employees to designated parking areas.
• Assists with special parking needs.
• Assists in maintaining smooth traffic flow during events by setting up traffic cones, signage, barricades, and other equipment.
• Issues daily parking passes.
This Labor Class, CSEA-represented position is part-time, on-call, and work year-round, primarily on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday schedule for most major events. These positions provide competitive pay of $16.43/hour.
