Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Facilities Operations Assistant 2 is a Senior Housekeeping Worker and a working Supervisor responsible for maintaining the appearance and condition of living areas, offices, rest rooms and other building spaces at State facilities. A Senior Housekeeping Worker supervises subordinate Housekeeping workers and others scheduling and prioritizing work. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintains appearance and conditions of the facility buildings by: o Sweeping, mopping and removing debris, etc.o Clears sites and prepares them for use by individuals and staff.o Cleans floors, walls, toilets, windows, etc. using hand or power equipment.o Removes trash in living areas, work areas and offices.o Performs and supervises cleaning of corridors, entryways and common areas utilizing brooms and specialized equipment. • Supervises and schedules day to day work of subordinates.• Assists in the planning of housekeeping projects, estimating manpower, equipment and materials required to accomplish the job.• Prepares requests for supplies and other materials needed for housekeeping.• Provides training to staff and others within their field that may include participation and scheduling of mentoring programs in housekeeping in cooperation with campus operations. • Performs routine minor building maintenance work as well as minor maintenance on equipment.• Other duties as assigned.#LI-AK1#LI-NB1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/nys-office-for-people-with-developmental-disabilities/posts/?feedView=all

The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: One year of service as a Facility Operations Assistant 1 or Motor Vehicle Operator.ORTwo years of full-time, verifiable experience in custodial, grounds, or maintenance operation or assisting in a journey-level trade.*When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.Preferred Qualifications: • Working knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the trade or trades to which assigned.• Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures.• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.• Ability to operate a variety of hand and power equipment in a safe manner.• Candidate will be trained in the operation and maintenance procedures as related to Asbestos Containing Materials.• Basic computer skills preferred.
