The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description • Requisition and purchasing functions for the Buffalo district office and statewide• Administrative support functions for Property Services Department• Schedule interviews• Onboard new staff as location support• Maintain shared mailboxes• Enter Vendor/EFT information into Oracle Supplier table• Maintain Master Bidder List and support the Contracts Department• Assist with any special projects handed down by the Administration Department• Other responsibilities, as assigned

The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications • One year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include, but aren’t limited to: Administrative Assistant 1, Program Aide, Contract Management Specialist Trainee 1; OR• Four years of customer service experience which required independence in both verbal and written communication responsibilities; OR• An associate degree or higher and two years of customer service experience which required independence in both verbal and written communication responsibilities.Preferred Qualifications: • Proven experience in administrative support or coordination roles• Strong organizational and time management skills• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion• Comfortable working independently and collaborativelyPlease be advised that the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) does not offer sponsorship for employment visas to employees or potential employees. For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.
