Duties Description The Registered Nurse 2 (Geriatrics) will coordinate, direct and provide professional nursing care to residents of the nursing home under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Director of Nursing/Director of Nursing. The Registered Nurse 2 (Geriatrics) will develop, update, and monitor nursing care objectives in treatment plans for individuals and administer nursing treatments. They will help develop and participate in nursing orientation programs which include education and training needs for nursing staff. They will review records and discuss staff and program requirements with facility managers. The incumbent will Serve as a member of various committees and workgroups concerned with individual treatment and care issues or topics.

Minimum Qualifications Transfers: Current New York State employee with one or more years of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service
in a position allocated to Grade 18 or above, and that is eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law to Registered Nurse 2 (Geriatric).
Open Competitive HELPS qualifications: Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working with a geriatric population.
Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have long-term care Facility experience.
One competitive full-time appointment, or non- competitive full-time appointment via HELPS.

The posted salary range includes the statutory hiring rate at step 4 and job rate for PS&T Grade 20, a Geographic Pay Differential of $35,000, and downstate adjustment of $4,150.
Additional compensation may apply based on shift assignment. 7% shift differential for evening shift; 10% shift differential for night shift.
Inconvenience pay program of $825 per year will be paid to employees who work four (4) hours or more between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Hours worked between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on an overtime basis are not included for Inconvenience Pay.
