Why does the job exist?
Position is responsible for scheduling maintenance as well as preventative maintenance on all state vehicles.
This is a Auto Mechanic position with the Service Center, located in Milan, New Mexico with District 6.
How does it get done?
Scheduling and servicing vehicles.
Who are the customers?
District six employees.
Ideal Candidate
District six employees.
Minimum Qualification
Eighth-grade education.
Employment Requirements
A pre-employment background investigation is required. Employment requires successful completion of post offer pre-employment physical exam and is conditional pending results. Business reference check and Driver's License verification are also required, and employment is conditional pending results. Travel may be required.
Working Conditions
Work in a vehicle repair center; Walk, stand, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel for extend periods of time. Exposure to sunlight, dust, and environmental allergens; exposure to mechanical parts; precarious places, toxic fumes/chemicals and/or airborne particles. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work under pressure in all weather conditions on various types of terrain.
Use of hands to finger, handle or feel while performing various assigned duties; numerous specific vision abilities to include: close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; bending; squatting; climbing, reaching, kneeling, crawling to perform repairs.
Able to work in high pressure situations and able to make decisions independently. Subject to call-out on short notice for emergencies, irregular hours-day or night to include night time work as applicable are required.
