Why does the job exist?
This position will be a part of the IT support team supporting users and customers resolving technical issues. The position will review, diagnose, and resolve incident tickets with management and developing issues to include being responsible for leading deployment initiatives and troubleshooting network layer incidents.
How does it get done?
This position is responsible for troubleshooting the cause of each incident, evaluating the possible solutions, and selecting the appropriate course of resolution. This position is responsible for prioritizing multiple incidents based on customer impact and severity.

This position supports employees of the Taxation and Revenue Department.

Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) months of related work experience. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) months may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Must be current with all tax reporting/payment. Employment is subject to post offer pre-employment criminal background check to include fingerprint checks and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT); requires sitting in front of VDT for extended periods of time; work in cramped spaces and positions. Stress associated with working in a high-ticket volume environment, being able to deal with the constant traffic of user problems and system breakdowns. Requires the ability to reach above the head; lift up to 50 pounds. Requires the use of manual dexterity while operating a computer keyboard. This position requires long periods of visual acuity in front of a computer screen, listening to input from customers via telephone while performing technical tasks on a computer, and repetitive typing and computing tasks. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle, some travel may be required, and work extra hours as need.
