Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public policy, public administration, business management, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field is preferred.
At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in regulatory work, public administration, or business administration; and
Demonstrated experience leading or developing high-performing teams within a complex, multi-unit, or multi-disciplinary organization; or
An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Drivers License Required (Travel to/from Reno, Carson City, Las Vegas, and rural areas of Nevada will be required).
The Division Administrator serves as the chief executive of the Division of Industrial Relations, overseeing five operationally distinct units. This position reports directly to the Director of the Department of Business and Industry. Day-to-day, the Administrator directs operations through each unit's Chief Administrative Officer, providing leadership and strategic guidance rather than direct program management. Responsibilities include budget oversight and fiscal accountability, cross-unit policy implementation, regulatory and legislative engagement (including testimony before state and federal bodies), and external stakeholder relations with both public and private sector partners. The position also serves as a principal advisor to the Director on divisional matters and may represent the Director as assigned. Geographic scope spans offices in Carson City, Reno, Las Vegas, Elko, and Winnemucca.
