Job Description
The Training Coordinator supports the State Personnel Training and Development team by designing, developing, and delivering high‑quality learning experiences for State of Nebraska employees. This role creates online and on‑demand courses using Articulate, updates existing digital content, and applies adult learning principles to ensure effective, accessible training. The position also facilitates instructor‑led classes in both in‑person and virtual formats on topics such as systems, human resources, and leadership. Responsibilities include managing training logistics, communicating session availability, maintaining waitlists, and responding to employee inquiries to ensure a positive learner experience. The Training Coordinator collaborates with team members to meet statewide training needs, uphold consistency in course quality, and support the State’s commitment to developing a skilled and capable workforce.

Job Duties
Instructional Design & Online Course Development
Minimum Qualifications: Four years’ experience and/or training in planning and presenting information and/or education to others through formal training, workshops, seminars, or other instructional venues including experience developing training programs or curriculum. Bachelor’s degree in education, human resources, organization communication, training and development or related field may be substituted for experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices. Skill in developing eLearning content using Articulate Storyline and/or Rise. Strong facilitation skills for both virtual and in‑person training. Proficiency with virtual training platforms such as Microsoft Teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design best practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills for creating clear instructional materials and supporting learners. Focus on customer service.

Job Duties
Instructional Design & Online Course Development
- Develop new online and on‑demand courses using Articulate Storyline and Rise.
- Revise and update existing eLearning content to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with adult learning principles.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate technical or policy information into clear, engaging learning materials.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure consistency, functionality, and usability across all digital courses.
- Deliver instructor‑led training in both virtual and in‑person formats on system, HR, and leadership topics.
- Prepare training materials, manage classroom/virtual logistics, and ensure smooth session delivery.
- Apply facilitation best practices to support learner engagement and skill development.
- Collect and interpret participant feedback to inform improvements to future sessions.
- Manage training schedules, waitlists, and session communications to ensure timely and accurate information for employees.
- Respond to learner inquiries and provide customer service related to course access, registration, and participation.
- Maintain training records and support reporting needs as required.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure consistent processes and service delivery across programs.
- Participate in team planning, process improvement efforts, and cross‑agency training initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to enhance training effectiveness, streamline workflows, and expand learning offerings.
