Job Description:
As a Parole Officer, you will provide supervision of clients on parole. Daily travel around Lincoln and surrounding communities will be required as caseload dictates. Parts of training will be held at the Staff Training Academy in Lincoln, NE and at the Lincoln Regional Office.

DUTIES
- Provide supervision to a caseload of parolees and adult sex offenders on lifetime supervision.
- Conduct validated risk assessments, placement investigations, and home visits. Counsel and assist offenders in adjusting to the community. Develop offender case plans based on criminogenic needs and conduct cognitive classes for parolees.
- Collaborate with employers, institutional staff, area law enforcement, mental health boards, county attorneys, and treatment providers regarding behavior and treatment of offenders. Conduct violation investigations, searches, drug testing, and arrests.
- Testify in court and at the Parole Board hearings. Prepare reports and maintain case files. Cover an assigned territory.
- Travel will be required.
Monday - Friday 8:30-16:30, one late night a week 12:00-20:00, and one weekend day a month.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in corrections, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, social work, counseling, public administration or a related field. Experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, behavioral science, human services, or related field. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to adapt to various situations. Experience working with individuals in the criminal justice system, community resources, and stakeholders.
Other: This position requires travel. Must have a valid driver's license. Work schedule will include one weekly late night and one weekend day per month. Will serve as On Call Officer on a rotational basis. Regular and reliable attendance is required. Applicant accepting a job offer must pass the following exams in this order: medical exam and, at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
