Job Description:
- The assignee will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing systems and databases to access and store geospatial data.
- Perform data analysis utilizing mapping software conforming to standardized best practices.
- Design digital maps using geospatial data modeling and analyze spatial and non-spatial information.
- Administer and troubleshoot applications and GIS solutions.
- Analyze spatial data to discover patterns and trends through mapping software and design digital maps with geographic data and various other data sets. Manage a digital library of geographic maps and meta data in various file types.
- Create “shapefiles” to merge topographical data with external data by layering external data over a topographical map.
- Coordinate the development of web-based GIS applications, datasets, maps, and perform tasks such as geocoding addresses within various databases.
Requirements//Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Informatics, or Health field plus 4 years of experience working in data analysis, statistics, & interpretation of data in a health subject area OR Master’s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Informatics, or Health field plus 2 years of experience. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Above plus Degree in Geography.
