Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.

Responsibilities - What you’ll do
  • Reviews, evaluates, and monitors professional development training submissions and trainer compliance within the Missouri Professional Development (MOPD) system; authorizes approvals or denials in accordance with established requirements.
  • Provides technical assistance, guidance, and customer support to professionals, training organizations, and external stakeholders regarding the MOPD system, including the onboarding of new organizations and timely response to inquiries.
  • Participates in the development, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of the MOPD system by utilizing software applications and training tools, assisting with uploading, organizing, and maintaining training data, researching best practices, and supporting continuous system improvement.
  • Performs quality assurance reviews of college transcripts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards; works with staff to address discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of training and events, including assisting the Program Coordinator with training development and delivery and collaborating with Office of Childhood staff on the annual Conference on the Young Years (CYY).
  • Monitors key projects and initiatives within the Office of Childhood, maintains current knowledge of DESE training policies and procedures, and provides alignment, coordination, and timely support as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Department staff, state and local agencies, contractors, and external partners to support program objectives and workforce development efforts.
  • Provides support for other Professional Development Program Specialist duties and performs other related duties as assigned to advance program goals and organizational priorities.

Qualifications - All you need for success

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in early childhood, education, communications, human development, family studies, or other related area.

OR

  • Four or more years of professional or technical experience in social/human services or elementary/early childhood education

Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
