- Repairs/maintains boilers and related equipment such as feed water pumps/circulating pumps/valves and regulators/steam and water lines
- Repairs/replaces steam and water lines, unions, regulators, strainers, steam traps, and related equipment; replaces seals and gaskets in a variety of power plant equipment
- Tests and monitors the water treatment system of boilers
- Maintains/repairs electrical and/or electronic components such as replacing parts in control panels, repairing broken wires and related work.
- Reads sketches and diagrams in performing maintenance and repair work
Must be 18 years or older with four or more years of on-the-job training in a trade area, or completion of a relevant technical program, or certification in a relevant field.

Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive:
- A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
- A $0.75 per hour medium security or $1.50 maximum security differential if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
- A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing differential if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.
