Why You’ll Love This Position

The primary focus of this position is an application development team member that will perform development and maintenance of DMH enterprise applications using C#, SQL Server, and MVC. Duties include analysis, design, coding, code reviews, testing, implementation, and mentoring. Personal interactions with Business Owners and other team members are required, as is research and troubleshooting of complex problems. The successful candidate for this position needs to have a technical background. Candidate must be effective working collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently as circumstances dictate.

  • The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the Department of Mental Health (DMH).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Good communication skills.
  • Development experience using ASP. Net MVC framework.
  • Development experience using C#, SQL, jQuery, HTML, and CSS.
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of Responsive Web Design and Agile methodology.
  • Familiarity with Web Accessibility methods is preferred.
  • Able to work independently and on a team.
  • Development experience with .NET Core is a plus.
  • Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.

Knowledge of the core programming language used in the assigned area. Knowledge of computer logic statements and their applications. Ability to learn and apply concepts. Ability to perform basic mathematics. Ability to provide logical and innovative ideas and think critically to resolve issues. Ability to communicate with staff, management, and agency personnel.
