Job Location: This position will be located at Ft. Leonard Wood.
- Assignments are received orally by written orders and may be accompanied by sketches, penciled layouts or blueprints. Work is performed independently subject to inspection by a designated superior while in progress and upon completion.
- Installs or renovates complete plumbing, electrical and heating and cooling systems in buildings. Paints buildings and other structures using sprayers, brushes or rollers; applies wallpaper, fabrics, ceramic tile and other interior finishes.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance and monitoring activities on equipment such as air handlers/ refrigeration and air conditioning units/high and low pressure steam systems/heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems; records, meter and gauge readings; cleans coils and oils motors; and replaces belts, filters, switches, gauges, and motors.
- Troubleshooting and repair of complex HVAC systems to include recovery and charging of R22, R410 and R404 systems, brazing of copper tubing, installation of mini-split system, furnaces and condensing units, rooftop HVAC units up to 150 ton, chiller systems, boiler systems, large air handlers, CNC computer controlled systems, and building ventilation systems. Preventative maintenance including filter changes and cleaning of condensing units. Repair of refrigerators, freezers and ice machines.
- Performs finish carpentry such as installation of millwork; completes detailed carpentry work in constructing boardwalks, stairs and platforms.
- Duties will include, but not limited to, repair of utilities and building equipment, performing urgent and routine service calls to include all phases of electrical repair, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, carpentry, concrete, and other general repairs. Installs or renovates complete plumbing, electrical and heating and cooling systems in buildings. Paints buildings and other structures using sprayers, brushes or rollers; applies wallpaper, fabrics, ceramic tile and other interior finishes.
- Incumbent must be able to plan work sequence, determine types and amounts of materials for each project assignment, as well as assuring that the tools and equipment needed for each project are secured and loaded. Assists in establishing project schedules. Coordinates the ordering and delivery of materials and supplies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Four or more years of experience Knowledge in a variety of trade areas including: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair.
- Valid State Driver’s License
