Role Description
KCRO is recruiting a qualified positive professional to fill a leadership position on our Administrative Support Team, working primarily with the Director’s Office. This position may handle sensitive information pertaining to abuse and neglect investigations. It is crucial that the person in this role have the ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to internal and external matters occurring during the course of daily work. Additionally, we are seeking someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills who will be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the individuals we serve, their families and caregivers, contracted service providers, KCRO co-workers and the public. This role involves a variety of tasks which require:
A high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency AND 3-5 years of relevant experience, to include a minimum of 1 year of supervisory and/or leadership experience.

This role involves a variety of tasks which require:
- Independent decision making in accordance with policies and procedures
- Initiative to learn complex operations quickly and perform them accurately
- Flexibility in a fast-paced deadline driven environment with shifting priorities
- Proficiency with office practices, computer systems, software, and standard office equipment
- Plan, assign, direct, and coordinate activities of the Director in consultation with the Director and Executive Team.
- Provide complex administrative assistance for the Director and Executive Team.
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, review, and processing of a variety of abuse and/or neglect investigations, concerns, and/or related documents.
- Initiate and process all investigations from preliminary determinations to final determinations:
- Schedule all due process meetings
- Work closely with Legal Counsel and Attorney Generals’ office
- Schedule and prepare all documents for Administrative hearings
- Maintain all Abuse/Neglect files and prepare final determinations for Investigations Unit
- Work closely with all DMH Investigators, Central Office, Legal Counsel and OA Personnel
- Compose/draft correspondence involving appeals, utilization review, eligibility appeals and/or any agency rules, regulations, and programs as instructed by the Director.
- Research and recommend corrective action to resolve customer complaints.
- Research assigned issues, compile pertinent information, and prepare ad hoc reports, spreadsheets, and/or databases.
- Co-Supervise the KCRO Administrative Support Team, comprised of two units that collaborate to ensure timely completion of correspondence, data processing, and record keeping, as well as providing professional and welcoming initial contact over the phone or in person to those who visit our facility.

- Training, certification, and/or education in continuous process improvement programs such as Lean Six Sigma as well as completion of Missouri Way, Leadership Academy, or similar programs is preferred.
