Consider joining the Missouri Army National Guard (MOARNG) GIS team! As a GIS Developer, this challenging position serves as the GIS subject matter expert and data manager for the MOARNG’s Construction and Facility Management Office (CFMO) providing GIS support for MOARNG installations statewide. This permanent salaried position includes full time benefits such as Medical and Dental Insurance, 13 paid Holidays, and accruable vacation and sick leave.
As the GIS Developer within the MOARNG CFMO, this position will work closely with other GIS counterparts who make up the remainder of agency’s GIS team. Expect joint work assignments and cross training with GIS staff from the MOARNG Environmental Management Office as well as the Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) program which is responsible for GIS requirements supporting training lands and military ranges. These three areas of responsibility combined make up the total MOARNG GIS Program.
Preferred candidates will have the ability to work and learn in a fast-paced collaborative team environment. Prior experience applying GIS principles and workflows to utility tracking, real property, asset collection and management, facility construction and maintenance, and infrastructure is valuable in this position. Military experience is desired but not required.
Job Location: This position will be located at Ike Skelton Training Site, Jefferson City, MO.
Produce maps and reports in support of the Construction and Facilities Maintenance Officer for decision making, facility analysis, location suitability, and other criteria as needed. Design, Implement, and maintain web maps, applications, and dashboards using ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Portal in support of the CFMO and MOARNG. Collect, process, query, and analyze Global Navigation Satellite System/Global Positioning System and Geographic Information Systems data on all MOARNG installations state-wide and store it in the agency’s Common Installation Picture (CIP) geodatabase of record. Operate numerous types of equipment including UAS GPS survey equipment, data processing software, utility tracing and locating equipment, and GIS/CAD software packages. Monitors GIS data quality and integrity to ensure database complies with Spatial Data Standards for Facilities Infrastructure and Environment standards set by Department of Defense, Department of the Army, and the Army National Guard.
We are looking for a self-motivated person with practical experience in the GIS field.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years’ experience in GIS Field or equivalent/applicable experience.
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Be able to pass a background check.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geography or Computer Science with emphasis in GIS
- Knowledge of Python, Arcade, and/or various other applicable programming languages.
- Familiarity with SDSFIE standards
