This position will be located at 1659 East Elm Street, Jefferson City, Missouri, with the Air Pollution Control Program, Compliance and Enforcement Section, Agricultural Anhydrous Ammonia Unit.
- Conduct inspections and investigations of regulated air facilities.
- Respond and investigate citizen concerns related to air pollution.
- Document inspection and investigation findings into a comprehensive report.
- Determine noncompliance of potential and existing environmental health and safety issues.
- Provide technical assistance to the regulated community regarding regulatory requirements.
- Interpret and enforce requirements from federal regulations and state statute.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Compliance: Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance
- Manages and Organizes Information: Identifies a need; gathers, organizes, and maintains information; determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods.
- Customer Service: Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement.
- Environmental Science: Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods to protect and improve the quality of the environment and its resources; and to monitor, control, abate, and prevent pollutants.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 0-4 years of relevant experience
- Preferred degree program would include the following: Environmental Science or Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, Geology, Soil Science, Ecology, Agricultural, Natural Resource Management, Soil Conservation, or a closely related field. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
