As a Custodial Manager you will oversee housekeeping services to ensure a safe, sanitary, comfortable and pleasing environment for all Veterans, Veteran families, visitors and staff. This position is responsible for maintaining an inventory of supplies and tools. Work may also involve performing routine maintenance on equipment.

Hourly Rate: $17.47
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to perform a variety of routine manual tasks requiring the exertion of physical strength in the care, cleaning, and general maintenance of a building and equipment
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects
- Ability to complete duties in outdoor conditions and occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
Qualifications:
- 0 -1 year of work experience

Job Description Summary:
- Ensure overall cleanliness of facility and maintain all necessary documentation and information to meet Federal and VA regulations
- Plan and direct housekeeping functions, including insect control.
- Prepare daily assignments and complete departmental scheduling
- Schedule cleaning services to coordinate with residents’ daily routine and preferences.
- Prepare schedules/assignments for weekly, monthly, quarterly special projects and hold monthly departmental meetings.
- Ensure the housekeeping and laundry department operates within the allocated budget
- Monitor supply inventories and coordinate with Purchasing to purchase needed equipment and supplies for department
- Ensure safe work practices are developed and adhered to in regard to handling chemicals and machinery
- Responsible for recruitment, selection, and training of new employees
- Ensure performance management is implemented for each employee and reviewed in accordance with facility policy
- Provide employee counseling and disciplinary action as necessary
- Edit time records and process for employees within the timekeeping software
- Ensure ongoing education program is in place
- Ensure housekeeping/laundry personnel respect resident rights, particularly privacy and confidentiality
- Ensure effective policies and procedures relating to infection control are in place
- Adhere to infection control procedures as trained
