Job Location: Central Office, 1617 Missouri Boulevard, Jefferson City, MO
This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the intermediate starting salary of $48,307.68, and a senior starting salary of $52,172.40.
This position is eligible for a temporary emergency operations adjustment of $3 to $6 per hour, depending on the area of operation, when handling winter/emergency operations activities.

What You'll Do
- Maintains and services tools and equipment.
- Transports equipment and supplies throughout the state to drilling location.
- Collects soil and rock samples in coordination with geotechnical staff.
- Mobilizes an auger and/or pavement drill to different locations to obtain soil and/or pavement samples for further testing.
- Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
- High school diploma or GED/HiSET.
- A passing grade on the written portion of the commercial driver’s license (CDL) exam is required prior to the hire date. Must pass the driving portion of the Class A CDL exam with tanker endorsement, no air brake restriction, and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]) within 60 days of hire into the position.
- OSHA 10-Hour certification required within 90 days.
- Successful completion of a work examination and a medical-physical examination.
- Requires travel within the state of Missouri Monday through Thursday, leaving Jefferson City Monday morning and returning Thursday (four 10-hour days).
- Must be capable of working individually in all districts in the state of Missouri.
- Lodging provided and meals consumed while traveling are reimbursable.
- Job requires continuous, statewide, overnight travel.
- Job requires heavy physical exertion and effort.
- Job requires exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including duties in heavy traffic areas, on barges in bodies of water, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and on steep slopes and muddy ground.
- Job may require operation of vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials.
