What You’ll Do
- Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly (age 60 ) and disabled (ages 18 ).
- Conduct home visits to observe surroundings, and interview victims and caregivers.
- Coordinate interventions and ongoing protective services needs.
- Be available to be in an on call rotation with other members of your team.
- Travel within local multi-county area to conduct home visits, attend hearings and training sessions, utilizing your personal vehicle when necessary. Minimal overnight travel required.
- High level communication and interviewing skills.
- Able to work independently and show initiative within a team environment.
- Able to be resilient, think critically, and be innovative.
- Bachelor's degree (relevant experience such as LPN, RN, or social service supports, etc. experience may be substituted for each year of required education).
- For the APS Specialist II position, one or more years of experience in Adult Protective Services or other related human services field.
