This is first-level supervisory administrative support work involving the oversight and coordination of staff performing general administrative support activities in direct support of agency programs or operations. The incumbent assists higher-level supervisors with planning, assigning, reviewing, and coordinating work; training staff; monitoring workflow; ensuring accuracy and timeliness of administrative processes; and supporting the daily operational needs of the assigned program area.
Examples of work include assigning, reviewing, and monitoring the work of administrative support staff; training employees on office procedures, agency processes, and applicable systems; reviewing documents, records, reports, and correspondence for accuracy and completeness; coordinating workflow to ensure deadlines are met; assisting with staff scheduling and workload distribution; maintaining files, records, logs, and reports; responding to inquiries from staff, the public, or other agency personnel; assisting with personnel, purchasing, inventory, fiscal, or program support activities; recommending improvements to administrative procedures; providing input on employee performance and corrective action matters; and performing related duties as assigned.
Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 5-7 years of experience.
