This position is in the Facilities Management Office (FMO) at Camp Ripley. This position exists to purchase services, equipment and supplies for the Department of Military Affairs according to the Department of Administration's and the agency's policies and procedures. Duties include defining specifications for goods and services; negotiating with vendors; resolving shipments and warranty problems. Consideration must be given to cost, timeliness, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications
- Applicants are required to have business, financial, accounting, contracting, or purchasing related experience or education
- Knowledge and understanding of acquisition principles and procedures sufficient to secure and administer purchase orders for a variety of goods and services.
- Must pass a complete a background investigation.
- Valid driver's license.
- Required to be a Certified State Purchasing Agent holding an ALP with the ability to achieve the $25,000 ALP level within three months of hire.
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities required:
- Strong word processing and spreadsheet maintenance/Excel experience
- Strong organization skills and a large emphasis on attention to detail
- Strong computer software skills
- Ability to work independently, follow directions, and balance workload demands through prioritization and organization
- Purchasing or accounting experience in a governmental or business environment
- Ability to writing scopes of work, deliverables, and terms/conditions for contracts, goods, and services
- Utilizing accounting/vendor information systems sufficient to manage purchasing and acquisition contracts.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Purchasing in a governmental or business environment
- Experience executing purchasing and contracting under a cooperative agreement.
- Writing specifications for goods/services
- Preparing and awarding solicitations for bids
- Utilizing accounting/vendor information tracking systems sufficient to manage purchasing and acquisition contracts
- Training in Fiscal Law
