At the Michigan Department of Transportation's (MDOT) Bureau of Bridges and Structures, you'll join a team that serves as the statewide bridge authority, supporting the design, construction and preservation of bridge assets across Michigan. Your work will contribute to infrastructure that connects communities, supports commerce and serves millions of travelers throughout the state.

This position offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of transportation professionals, including consultant partners, contractors and internal project teams, to help deliver bridge rehabilitation, bridge replacement and new bridge construction projects. • Preparing proposal material, reviewing project-related documents, and checking final plans.
  • Overseeing work activities of professional transportation engineers.
  • Assisting unit supervisors in the review and coordination of the unit projects.
  • Developing multiple scopes of work statements and budgets for trunkline bridge rehabilitation or new bridge construction projects to be prepared by contracted consultants.
  • Coordinating projects within MDOT, other state agencies and outside entities.
  • Initiating the preparation of agreements with participating cities, counties and railroads.
