What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Engineer 9 - Engineer Development Program (EDP) position at State of Michigan?
The Engineer Development Program (EDP) is an entry-level rotational program providing new engineers (at the Transportation Engineer 9 level) experience in multiple work areas while under the guidance of a mentor. The EDP experience prepares participants for an exciting and challenging career at MDOT. Typical assignments during the rotational cycle may include road and bridge design, construction, traffic safety, operations, maintenance, geotechnical, materials, and surveys. Additional opportunities in other technical areas can be worked into the program with the help of the EDP mentor. Locations will vary depending on current assignments/rotation. It is the intent of the program to develop transportation professionals with a broad understanding of MDOT's mission and practice.
Note: This a permanent full-time, entry-level position that is intended for individuals with a year or less of transportation engineering experience. Upon satisfactory performance, this position has the opportunity for advancement.
The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate at the entry (9) level through the maximum rate at the experienced (P11) level. Based on education and experience, candidates will be reviewed to determine what level they are qualified for.
