What are the responsibilities and job description for the MDCR - Division of Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing Intern position at State of Michigan?
We are seeking a motivated intern who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in any field for the Division on Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing.
Responsibilities:
- Perform research for the division
- Administrative functions as needed
- Gather and compile information
- Assist with development of materials
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs
- Technology background a plus
- Awareness of individuals who are deaf, deafblind or hard of hearing a plus
This is a virtual internship.
At the time of internship, the applicant must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, graduate program or trade school.
Applicants must have advanced proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
Preferred qualifications:
Interest or coursework in Deaf Studies, ASL/Interpreting, Media, Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, Sociology, or related fields
Experience or strong interest in working with Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing communities
Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a willingness to learn
