Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in providing quality healthcare to patients under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. Duties
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Conduct physical examinations and monitor patient vital signs.
- Assist with tube feeding and manage dietary needs of patients.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and document patient progress using electronic health records (Epic).
- Provide urgent care as needed, including pain management and support during medical procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Assist in the care of pediatric patients, including those in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
- Educate patients and families on health management and wellness strategies.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Lift and assist patients as necessary to ensure their comfort and safety.
Skills
- Proficient in tube feeding techniques and dietary management.
- Experience in urgent care settings with strong assessment skills.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Competence in using electronic health record systems, particularly Epic.
- Knowledge of pediatric nursing practices, especially within PICU environments.
- Strong skills in pain management strategies for diverse patient populations.
- Ability to perform thorough physical examinations with attention to detail.
- Willingness to engage in travel nursing assignments when required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction.
