Financial Analyst 12 level
Under the direction of the Consultation & Contract Management Section Manager for the Office of Community Violence Intervention (OCVI), the Financial Analyst (FA) is the recognized resource to provide oversight for analyzing and interpreting complex federal, state, and local fiscal and programmatic budget requirements for the Office. This position will also update and oversee the Office of Community Violence Intervention (OCVI) revenue, expenditures, and sub-recipient monitoring policy and procedures, also orientate new staff on these policies and procedures. The FA will also run expenditure and payroll reports, as well as do projections, for all the OCVI funding sources. In addition, the analyst will train staff on how to properly manage and monitor their programs/projects. The person will be responsible for the overall development and implementation of staff time and effort reporting, bi-weekly auditing of staff time reported, developing, and updating the budget and budget narratives for the various funding sources as well as assist in the OCVI team in any required reports. The FA will serve as the financial liaison to MDHHS Grant Accounting, Contract, and Budget Office, to ensure the submission of accurate and timely budget data.
Financial Analyst 9 to P11 levels
This position functions as a Financial Analyst (FA) with the Department of Health and Human Services, Consultation & Contract Management Section Manager for the Office of Community Violence Intervention (OCVI). The Financial Analyst (FA) will review and monitor financial data supporting federal and state regulations, requirements and reporting by providing a systematic review, interpretation and/or evaluation of budgets, trends and or other financial data for CVI grantees, as well as various grant funding received from federal, state and local resources.

To Be Considered For This Position You Must
Education
Required Education and Experience
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 12 semester (18 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: accounting, finance, or economics.
Experience
Financial Analyst 9
No specific type or amount is required.
Financial Analyst 10
One year of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst 9, Accountant 9, or Auditor 9.
Financial Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst 10, Accountant 10, or Auditor 10.
Financial Analyst 12
Three years of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst P11, Accountant P11, or Auditor P11.
Alternate Education And Experience
Educational Substitution
College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.
Additional Requirements And Information
Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
