Job Description

Ready to lead one of the Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) most fast-moving, high-impact rail teams? The Office of Rail is looking for a dynamic, solutions-driven manager to oversee our Infrastructure and Asset Management Unit, the team responsible for federal grant portfolio management, real estate actions, permitting, Amtrak-focused activities on the Michigan Line (state-owned passenger rail) and state-owned rail asset management.

In This Role, You Will

  • Monitor the federal rail grant portfolio to ensure timely progress and accurate documentation.
  • Lead permitting, real estate reviews and trespass/encroachment initiatives.
  • Oversee complex, project documentation and process reviews.
  • Guide Michigan Line agreements and key relationships with Amtrak and other railroads.
  • Inspire, mentor and grow a talented team shaping the future of rail in Michigan.

Required Education And Experience

Education

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience

Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
