Main Purpose of Job
This position functions as an accounting technician in the Accounts Receivable Section of DNR- FAS. It is responsible for reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting and balancing financial transactions. This position is responsible for: (1) the review of revenue summaries for completeness and accuracy, (2) data entry of summaries into the State’s Financial Management System (FMIS) (3) the review and data entry of Federal Timecards into the FTC module of FMIS called CICS.
POSITION DUTIES
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Finance and Administrative Services, 580 Taylor Avenue, B-4, Annapolis, MD 21401 is currently accepting applications for a Fiscal Accounts Clerk Trainee, a skilled service position. A Fiscal Accounts Clerk Trainee is the entry level of work reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting and balancing financial transactions. Employees in this classification do not supervise other Fiscal Accounts Clerks.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

- Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Financial Clerical/Financial Technicians classifications or Financial Clerical/Finance Technician specialty codes in the Financial field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
- Six months of experience using the Statewide accounting system applications.
- Six months experience of data entry.
