As part of the Maryland State Department of Education, the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) provides services to assist students with disabilities prepare for the work world, vocational rehabilitation services to assist adults with significant disabilities who are seeking to enter or reenter the workforce, and the adjudication of Social Security disability claims for the citizens of Maryland.

LOCATION OF POSITION

Division of Rehabilitation Services Office of Field Services - Region II 2525 Riva Road, Suite 101� Annapolis, MD 21401� Hybrid schedule may be available after completion of training (up to 3 telework days permitted each week)

POSITION DUTIES

The Management Associate provides administrative support, fiscal, technical assistance, and office support to the Program Manager III in planning, implementing, and monitoring regional or program operations consistent with the Division goals and objectives. This position also provides administrative and technical support to all 4 District Offices located in Region 2. Responsibilities include:� •\tEstablish and maintain office protocols for the Region II Program Managers.� •\tIndependently manage a system to monitor assignments.� •\tPrepare, compose, review and proofread select correspondence, materials and publications for review and signature of the Program Manager.� •\tAct as purchasing agent for the Region II offices, and adhere to all procurement policies and procedures.� •\tReceive and review regional request for supplies and service orders through FMIS or the use of the State Purchasing Card.� •\tHandle regional purchasing to include bidding and contract preparation.� •\tServe as a liaison to MSDE and WTC accounting departments to resolve discrepancies and process financial items. •\tHandle regional billing/invoices and expense accounts.� •\tIndependently manage a system to monitor assignments.� •\tHandle scheduling of meeting rooms and interpreters.� •\tMaintain file and record inventory review� •\tLead and provide technical assistance to office secretaries in the district offices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Five years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.� Notes:� 1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.� 2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.� 3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration or Personnel Specialist classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Special Assistant or Secretarial fields of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications. •\tExperience working in a Vocational Rehabilitation or other program that provides services to individuals with disabilities.� •\tExperience creating and working with spreadsheets to track information and generate reports.� •\tExperience processing invoices and/or expense accounts.� •\tExperience working with Maryland’s Financial Management Information System (FMIS).
