Introduction

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) serves as one of the largest revenue sources for the State of Maryland, supporting important state programs and services including education, public health and safety, human resources and the environment. In addition to generating revenue from the sale of lottery products, the MLGCA is also responsible for the oversight of the state’s casino gaming program, providing direction and guidance to its casino partners on financial, security, regulatory and licensing procedures for the facilities. The Agency also regulates Sports Wagering, Daily Fantasy Sports and Electronic Bingo, as well as Instant Ticket Lottery Machines, which are located at almost 90 Veteran’s posts. Gaming in Maryland is a dynamic and growing business that operates around the clock, 365 days of the year.�

POSITION DUTIES

To execute all prospecting, sales presentations, applications, business reviews, sales analysis and point of sale agreements between the Maryland Lottery & Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) and new accounts that are Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs) or Fraternal Organizations (FOs). Liaison between the MLGCA,VSOs, and FOs to comply with state of Maryland legislation to provide Instant Ticket Lottery Machines (ITLMs) to qualified locations. Maintains and communicates all relevant new account sales initiatives with appropriate MLGCA personnel. Represents the Gaming department in a liaison capacity between MLGCA directors/managers and Vendor to identify deficiencies and recommend enhancements to the ITLM Program. Meets with Vendor's representative on a regular basis to ensure that systems and services are delivered in a timely fashion. Evaluate, recommend, recruitment of, and conduct sales presentations to, new Instant Ticket Lottery Machine qualified locations. Coordinate field research for required site surveys (including, but not limited to, ADA compliance), sales initiatives and Lottery Sales Management directives.� Represents the Gaming department in a liaison capacity between MLGCA directors/managers and Vendor to identify deficiencies and recommend enhancements to the ITLM Program.� Provide onboarding and ongoing training for site staff and participating organizations.� � Reviews and performs observations with Vendor personnel for installs of all ITLM equipment.� Manages ITLM inventory, provides recommendation for additional inventory when necessary.�

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work.� Notes:� 1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.� 2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.� 3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.� 4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants�who possess the following preferred qualification(s).�Include clear and specific information on your application regarding�your qualifications. 1. Experience in the gaming and/or lottery industry.� 2.�Technical experience (hands-on) with gaming equipment (VLTs, kiosks, electronic table games, instant bingo machines, etc).� 3. Sales, customer service, training and/or fieldwork support experience.

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
