Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to serve as the Assistant Director, Policy and Analytics (P&A) Unit and primary pharmacy-related policy expert for the Office of Pharmacy Services (OPS). This includes oversight of pharmacy related policies and requires high level pharmacy expertise to initiate, plan, design and execute strategic projects utilizing drug utilization trends, cost containment measures, budget forecasting, national and regional policies, in order to develop drug coverage policies by the Program. This position oversees the functions of the P&A Unit, the Pharmacists Professional Services (PPS) and the Clinical Services (CS) Divisions. This position is eligible for hybrid telework.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess the following: A valid Maryland Pharmacist license from the MD Board of Pharmacy A Doctorate degree (Pharm D) in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university Six (6) years of professional management experience, including a minimum of three (3) years of experience supervising other professional staff Three (3) years of professional experience in clinical pharmacy, and one of the following: overseeing and coordinating the general operation of a unit, data analytics, applying rules and regulations or exercising responsibility for the development of policies and procedures Two (2) years of experience in monitoring emerging drug technologies, as well as, recommending and implementing drug coverage policies�OR�Two (2) years of experience in developing drug coverage policies using drug utilization, cost, budget limitations, and national/regional policies related to pharmacy services Two (2) years of Outcome/Cost-based studies experience Two (2) years of experience planning, initiating, and implementing innovative ideas in the Pharmacy arena

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Desired candidates should be a self-starter and self-motivated and have experience creating, maintaining and managing drug pipeline reports (minimum of two years); experience with pharmacological data analytics; and,� Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPSW) certification.
