We’re looking for a Revenue Tax Auditor Supervisor to join our Field Audit Income Tax Division to supervise and coordinate tax audits for various tax types!
Seven years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus four years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics, or a Juris Doctorate, plus three years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or a current Louisiana license to practice law plus two years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Job Duties:
In this role, you will:
- Serve as the assistant to the Revenue Tax Auditor Manager, Revenue Tax Assistant Director or Revenue Tax Director over a team of auditors in a defined geographical area.
- Will be responsible for the supervision of a staff of Revenue Tax Auditors located within the state of Louisiana as well as other locations throughout the United States.
- Accompanies Revenue Tax Auditors on pre-audit and post-audit interviews with taxpayers and their accountants, chemists, information technology personnel and legal counsel to discuss audit procedures, explain the results of audits and the treatment of various tax issues.
- Assigns case inventory and provides assistance in determining the appropriate course of action for audits.
- The position also plans the workload, workflow, deadlines, work objectives and time management priorities.
- The Revenue Tax Auditor Supervisor also monitors Revenue Tax Auditor performance standards and measures and conducts performance evaluations.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Special Entrance Rates (SER) have been established for this position.
The Revenue Tax Auditor Supervisor (AS-619) has a starting rate of: $27.86/hourly; $2228.80 biweekly.

A Tax and Natural Disaster Clearance will be conducted on all selected applicants to validate the timely submission of tax returns and payments. It is a requirement that all Revenue employees must adhere to all tax laws of the State of Louisiana.
LA R.S.15:587.5, 587.6 and the IRS require the Louisiana Department of Revenue to conduct a criminal history records check of a prospective employee who will access federal tax information to perform job duties.
