This position provides agency-wide procurement and operational support, ensuring that purchasing, contracts, property, fleet, and P-Card activities follow Louisiana statutes and administrative rules.The role keeps daily operations running smoothly while preventing compliance issues and supporting staff across multiple divisions.

Seven years of experience in procurement, contracts or grants management, financial management, accounting, or auditing; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in procurement, contracts or grants management, financial management, accounting, or auditing; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus four years of experience in procurement, contracts or grants management, financial management, accounting, or auditing; OR
An advanced degree plus three years of experience in procurement, contracts or grants management, financial management, accounting, or auditing.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Designation as a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), a Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO), or a National Institute of Governmental Purchasing Certified Procurement Professional (NIGP-CPP) will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
Procurement Oversight
Reviews purchasing requests and solicitations, helps staff understand requirements, and ensures all purchases follow state laws. Supports facilities and central office staff in resolving procurement questions and avoiding audit risks.
Property & Fleet Coordination
Oversees property notifications, surplus transfers, vehicle trades, LPAA interactions, and fleet documentation. Ensures items are tracked, documented, and processed correctly and helps staff understand property and fleet workflow requirements.
P-Card & Operational Support
Monitors P-Card activity for compliance, assists staff with STL limits and rules, prevents split purchases, and supports operations by troubleshooting issues and improving processes
This position would typically manage a Procurement Specialist. The managed position would focus on day-to-day processing, while this role provides oversight, training, and problem resolution.

Appointment Type: DETAIL OF A permanent, classified employee of LA DPS&C - CORRECTIONS SERVICES (Adult DOC)
- An employee selected for detail may be permanently promoted to this position if the position becomes available.
Note regarding the advertised pay range: The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make at each level over their career, and NOT the amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
