The Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women is seeking a skilled and motivated Plumber/Pipefitter Foreman to lead and supervise plumbing and pipefitting operations across the facility. This position plays a key role in maintaining safe, reliable, and functional infrastructure that supports daily operations.

Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience:Four years of experience or training in pipefitting, steam fitting, or plumbing.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.
Job Duties:
Supervising and directing assigned offenders in plumbing and pipefitting tasks
Planning, assigning, and reviewing work related to installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, fixtures, and pipelines
Ensuring all work complies with applicable codes, safety standards, and institutional policies
Inspecting facilities, identifying maintenance needs, and coordinating repair schedules
Maintaining required documentation, including work orders, material usage, and project records
Collaborating with maintenance leadership and other departments to ensure efficient facility operations
Training and developing staff in proper procedures and safe work practices
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE
- Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
- An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
