We’re looking for a Facility Maintenance Manager to manage our Maintenance team—a proactive, hard-working team, working to ensure that our building meets all state and federal guidelines..
Completion of a two-year training program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus three years of experience in the building construction trade or building maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance; OR
Eighteen semester hours in a construction field or engineering plus two years of experience in the building construction trade or building maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance.

Job Duties:
*Supervises journeyman level work in several trades, i.e., plumbing, electrical, painting, plastering, heating, and air conditioning repair, and other maintenance work.
*Prepares work schedules and on call schedules, maintenance reports, evaluates employee performance and performs limited administrative functions.
*Trains new employees on use of tools and repair/maintenance of equipment.
*Performs maintenance, preventive maintenance, and keeps records of heating and cooling system (138) units, two hot water boilers, two heating boilers, four electrical hot water units, oxygen vacuum system, monitor system, alarm system, and sprinkler system.
*Supervises and performs maintenance and preventive maintenance on seven State vehicles and all lawn care equipment. Keeps record of repairs.
*Makes schedule of plans for subordinates providing a variety of maintenance repairs by monthly walkthrough inspections.
*Estimates cost and requests supplies and materials for repairing and construction. Keeps records, supervises, and participates in new construction.
*Installs telephone lines and other communication needs for staff and residents. Reads and interprets blueprints. Makes sketches of proposed projects.
*Gives annual in services on fire safety to all employees and coordinates monthly fire drills. Gives in services on medical equipment (i.e., beds, scales, call system, whirlpools) to nursing employees.
*Provides supervision and training to various workers through the Older Worker Program, VA Work Study Program, Summer Youth Employment Program and Community Service Program.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional
Work Schedule: Work hours are 8 hour day shifts, Monday - Friday. Position requires being On-Call.
Compensation: This position has a salary depending on experience and is eligible for On-call pay of $2.00per hour after shift and on weekends/holidays.
