Possession of a current Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.NOTE:
Applications will be accepted from persons who possess a current Engineer Intern Certificate in states other than Louisiana. However, the applicant will be required to obtain a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate prior to appointment. The hiring agency will verify that all requirements are met.

Job Duties:
- Serves as the DWRLF project engineer for DWRLF construction loan drinking water improvement projects across the State.
- Performs routine on-site construction inspections.
- Performs independent engineering agency reviews and approvals of routinely submitted bid documents, contract documents, payment requests, and engineering contracts.
- Performs engineering review and evaluation of System Improvement Plans and Environmental Information Documents submitted by water systems.
- Performs technical reviews of federal and state funding requirements.
- Assists the DWRLF Program Engineer and/or Deputy Chief Engineer with updating the strategies and goals of the Louisiana Department of Health’s Capacity Development Program.
- Performs emergency response duties as directed.

Compensation: This position is eligible for the following Special Entrance Rates (SER):
Engineer Intern 1 - $26.44 hourly | $2,115.20 bi-weekly
Engineer Intern 2 - $28.29 hourly | $2,263.20 bi-weekly
Engineer 3 – $33.39 hourly | $2,671.20 bi-weekly
Engineer 4 - $36.90 hourly | $2,952.00 bi-weekly
Engineer 5 - $39.48 hourly | $3,158.40 bi-weekly
