David Wade Correctional Center is seeking a highly organized and trustworthy ARDC Manager to oversee the day to day operation in our Records Office.  The successful candidate will ensure that all inmate and administrative records are managed securely, accurately, and in compliance with relevant legislation and organizational policies.Two years of the required experience in the following minimum qualifications must have been in offender records analysis, offender classification, or offender pre-classification:

Seven years of experience in offender records analysis, offender classification, offender pre-classification, security, or social services or as a probation or parole officer; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in offender records analysis, offender classification, offender pre-classification, probation and parole, security, or social services; OR

A bachelor’s degree plus four years of experience in offender records analysis, offender classification, offender pre-classification, probation and parole, security, or social services; OR

An advanced degree in a social science or social work or a juris doctorate plus three years of experience in offender records analysis, offender classification, offender pre-classification, probation and parole, security, or social services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

• Manage and maintain inmate and institutional records in both electronic and paper formats
• Strong knowledge of policy and applicable legislation
• Communication and computer skills

Work Environment:

• The employee will supervise the Records Department

Position-Specific Details: 

Appointment Type: Promotion of a permanent, classified employee of LA DPS&C - CORRECTIONS SERVICES (Adult DOC) 

• The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted, or may be required to accept a probational appointment.

• Any degree, certificate, special license, or DD-214 must be verified by official documentation prior to hire.
• Any qualifying experience that is based on college credit/college hours should have an accompanying transcript for verification.
  • This is a 24-hour facility.
