Associate degree in Welding Technology or closely related field; (Equivalent technical certificate industry experience considered.) 3-5 years of professional welding experience (fabrication, construction, inspection, or related industry experience). Current welding certifications (A WS or equivalent) in applicable welding processes. Demonstrated proficiency in multiple welding processes ( e.g., SMAW, GMA W, GTA W, FCAW). Ability to interpret welding blueprints, symbols, specifications, and applicable welding codes. Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students. Meets state requirements for vocational/technical instructor eligibility at the postsecondary level.
•Provide instruction in welding theory and hands-on welding applications.
•Demonstrate safe use of tools, equipment, and welding processes.
•Evaluate student performance through assignments, lab work, and examinations.
•Maintain accurate records of attendance and grades in accordance with NSU policies.
•Ensure adherence to shop safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
•Prepare instructional materials, including syllabi, lesson plans. and assessments.
•Support department goals and ABET-related student outcomes as applicable.
•Perform other duties related to effective instruction as assigned by the Department Head.
