Description
The Floyd County Area Technology Center is looking for an experienced, hard-working, dedicated person to help students in Floyd County and surrounding counties reach their career goal in the area of Automotive Technology. This position is very rewarding as you see students in grades 9-12 further their education and complete their career pathway.

The Kentucky Department of Education, Office of Career and Technical Education, Floyd County Area Technology in Martin, KY has an opening for an Automotive Technology Instructor.

This position is advertised as part of KRS Chapter 156 OCTE for employment through the Office of Career and Technical Education. It is not subject to the provisions of KRS 18A for classified or unclassified service

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teaches occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program.
  • Performs other duties as required.
In accordance with KRS 161.220 the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Kentucky Teachers’ Retirement System.

Salary: Dependent on rank and experience

This position will be posted as a 156 position in Floyd County

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Must hold the Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught;

OR

Must hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in the subject area to be taught;

OR

Four years of appropriate work experience, two of which must be in the last five years.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be able to acquire the personal national certifications applicable to the program area (NCCER, ASE, ABC, AGC etc). Applicant can be hired without the required personal instructor certification, but must acquire the needed certification at the next available testing period
