Position Summary: This position promotes products and services provided by KCI to include PIE certified shops, KCI Traditional shops, to other state agencies, federal agencies, cities, counties, schools, churches and selected non-for-profit agencies located in the state of Kansas. All Sales Representatives share the responsibility of a vast geographical area within the state. Products promoted include, but are not limited to, all paint product, traffic signage, custom metal products, janitorial products, office furniture, dormitory furniture, office seating, lounge seating, ergonomic products, office panel systems, resident clothing, mattresses, and printed products. Offering advice for improvements as needed.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Schedules and conducts sales/service visits with customers; shows samples; writes orders.
- Makes sales presentations to large groups of prospective customers.
- Prepares and distributes price lists and catalogs.
- Acts as the primary contact person with clients in all matters pertaining to customer relations; receives and resolves customer complaints as they occur.
- Assists in the development and sale of new product lines.
- Supervises the production of promotional materials to be displayed at conventions, fairs, or other public exhibitions and in the preparation, collation, and mailing of price lists.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma
Minimum Qualifications: 6 months of experience in sales, marketing, or customer relations. Education may be substituted for experiences as determined relevant by the agency.

Applicants selected for interview will be evaluated by an interview panel using performance/behavior-based interview questions. The interview panel will make recommendations to the Warden for final approval. A second interview may be conducted. Applicants will be subject to background check and criminal history investigation; must pass a drug screen and a TB test unless promoting, transferring, or demoting from another safety sensitive position within the same agency; and possess a valid Driver’s License.
