Compensation:

  • Annual Salary Range: $54,080 - $58,240
  • Hourly Pay Range: $26 - $28
  • Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position will process the Kansas Bureau of Investigation’s travel and expense reimbursements.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Process and key employee’s travel and expense reimbursement requests in a timely and accurate manner. This includes verifying correct meal calculations are used, the funding is correct, and all required documentation is attached.
  • Maintain log of lodging folios to be used in reconciling direct bill hotel invoices and monitoring of agency spend for delegated authority. Ensure rates are within allowable range and unallowable tax is not included.
  • Serve as the backup for the Accountant I position, who processes payment vouchers and distributes mail.
  • Enter requisitions for hotels and other expenses.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School/GED minimum. Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current KBI employee
  • Two years of experience in professional accounting/auditing work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Statewide Management, Accounting & Reporting Tool (SMART) or other PeopleSoft application.
  • Knowledge of the State of Kansas rules and regulations related to travel reimbursements.

Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:

  • As a condition of employment, you will be subject to a pre-employment process to include a polygraph examination, fingerprint based records check, and comprehensive background investigation, including reference check of past and present employers. The pre-employment process will be waived for current KBI personnel who have previously completed the screening requirements
