Compensation: $58,471.88 annually. Salary may be dependent upon the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

This is supervisory work in the administration and delivery of services for multiple state and federally funded programs which includes child and family well-being programs, child protective services, family first services, family finding and family preservation. This position will have a primary responsibility in supporting the region in achieving program outcomes. This position will also be a leader within the region in all aspects of the Kansas Practice Model (KPM) that will include training, mentoring and consultation to the PPS teams and Supervisors within the region. Tasks may include: provide ongoing learning opportunities to staff, assist with community presentations on the practice model, participate support and engage in Guided Learning Consultations (GLC), Questions that make a difference sessions (QTMAD), Learn the Supervisor consultation tool and support Supervisors on continued learning thru use of the tool. This position will supervise and direct the work of the FFSPA. Additionally, when there is a need for supervisory coverage, short or long-term, the work may include planning and directing the daily work of a PPS team.

Qualifications

Education: *If a degree is required, a copy of a candidate’s transcript showing proof must be sent to your recruiter following the interview * Four-year degree in Human Services or Behavioral Sciences field of study, or education determined relevant by the agency.

Minimum Qualifications: *If a driver’s license is required, a copy must be sent to your recruiter following the interview.* Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, health sciences or related field as determined relevant by the agency and one (1) years of field experience with a child welfare agency, childcare institution or agency performing human services or health sciences functions. Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications: One or more of the following: Bachelor’s in Social Work (Licensed Social Worker), Master’s in Professional Counseling (Licensed Professional Counselor), Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist).

Security Clearance: A background check (KBI - criminal background, welfare fraud, driver's license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include fingerprinting and FBI check. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment with DCF. Must maintain security clearance throughout employment.

Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate: A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas. Applicants (including non-residents) who receive a formal job offer for a State job, are required to obtain a valid Tax Clearance within ten (10) days of the job offer. A Tax Clearance can be obtained through the Kansas Department of Revenue who reviews individual accounts for compliance with Kansas Tax Law.

The person in this positon has access to protected health information (PHI) under the provisions of the Heath Information Portability Act of 1996 (HIPPA) Privacy Rule. SUPERVISION

This is supervisory work in the administration and delivery of services for multiple state and federally funded programs which includes child and family well-being programs, child protective services, family first services, family finding and family preservation. This position will have a primary responsibility in supporting the region in achieving program outcomes. This position will also be a leader within the region in all aspects of the Kansas Practice Model (KPM) that will include training, mentoring and consultation to the PPS teams and Supervisors within the region. Tasks may include: provide ongoing learning opportunities to staff, assist with community presentations on the practice model, participate support and engage in Guided Learning Consultations (GLC), Questions that make a difference sessions (QTMAD), Learn the Supervisor consultation tool and support Supervisors on continued learning thru use of the tool. This position will supervise and direct the work of the FFSPA. Additionally, when there is a need for supervisory coverage, short or long-term, the work may include planning and directing the daily work of a PPS team. This position can be a back up for TDM coverage if the assigned supervisor had a prior commitment that could not be rearranged. Provide support to unit supervisors as needed to monitor and assist in late work completion with staff. Participate and lead community partner meetings, provider/grantee trainings, etc as directed. Be the Regional lead for Safe Sleep. Tasks may include attending regular meetings with Administration and other Regional leads, promote and support Safe Sleep Instructors in the Region, be primary contact person for ordering of cribettes. Reviewer of Child Death Review form, Child abuse and neglect expungement reports. Review Critical Incident/ Significant Incident reports.


HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT/TRAINING
  • Evaluates job performance, recommends personnel actions in accordance with DCF and Civil Service regulations to ensure services are being delivered accurately and policy is interpreted and implemented accurately.
  • Assesses and identifies needed training and coordinates with the Program Administrator and Training Coordinator to ensure training is provided in a timely and effective manner


CONTINUOUS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
  • Continually reviews agency goals and values and works as a team with the Program Administrator and PI to ensure that progress toward program and agency goals is monitored, evaluated effectively and adjustments made to meet changing needs.
  • Makes recommendations for changes to Regional procedures and program policies and develops appropriate corrective action strategies and implements changes needed.
  • Coordinates case reviews with specialized staff in the PI as part of the ongoing process of continuous quality improvement. From the reviews provides continuous feedback to employees on their ongoing performance.
  • Supporting the PPS teams through the KPM model to ensure that families are actively engaged and prior to removal of a child from the home.
  • Building upon the PPS team’s capacity to holistically serve families.

INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
  • Consults with Program Administrator to interpret policy and then ensures policy is distributed to staff and implemented.
  • Provides support and guidance for staff to ensure the accurate, thorough, and timely input of information into all the information systems needed to administer agency programs.
  • Receives new policy information from Program Administrator, policy development website, through e-mail etc., and distributers to staff.

REGIONAL MANAGEMENT
  • Serves as an effective member of the Regional Management Team by sharing information and making recommendations to Program Administrator regarding changes needed to ensure staff is completing intake, assessment and delivery of services
accurately and timely according to each program’s requirements.
  • Participates in community activities, confers with citizen organizations, and serves as liaison with other agencies.
  • Some travel may be required to assist other units.
  • Assist with other special projects or tasks as identified by PA, ARD, RD.
