Compensation:

  • Annual Salary Range: $38,355.20 - $43,503.20
  • Hourly Pay Range: $18.44 - $20.92

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

This Human Resource Professional position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Bureau of Human Resources. This position provides administrative support for Recruitment and Position Management, posting job advertisements, screening applications, and working directly with personnel resources and senior managers to ensure that positions are filled in a timely manner while adhering to State of Kansas & KDOT policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Writes job postings, establishes closing dates, and reviews and screens applications.
  • Provides support for developing interview questions and reviews interview results for compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and sends correspondence to applicants informing them of incomplete application material, interview status, and position vacancy information.
  • Develops relationships with the public, organizations, communities, and groups to promote the agency and recruit qualified minority applicants.
  • Works with technical schools, colleges, and other continuing education offices to communicate the availability of programs relative to KDOT.
  • Provides backup coverage to other Recruitment positions.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in planning, directing, organizing, managing, or administering personnel or human resources functions.
  • Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.
  • Valid Driver’s License at time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Recruitment Module in SHARP.
  • Experience posting, recruiting, and filling open positions.

  • Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate: A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas. A Tax Clearance can be obtained through the Kansas Department of Revenue who reviews individual accounts for compliance with Kansas Tax Law.
