Job Description

Perform basic para-professional nursing duties under the direction of the LPN/RN

116 Certified Nurse Aide/Orderly
6 months’ experience as a CNA.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
The equivalent of two years of full-time clerical work experience involving the use of medical terminology;
OR
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes the equivalent of one year of full-time work experience as a Resident Treatment Worker, Pharmacy Assistant or a position providing nursing care or clerical work in a state institution providing medical services shall be considered qualified.

Perform basic para-professional nursing duties under the direction of the LPN/RN
- Assist patients in ADL's such as dressing, feeding and bathing
- Performs basic clinical duties such as taking temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressures, vision screenings, pulse oximetry, etc.
- Documents in medical records according to DOC standards
- Collaboratively coordinates and works with the LPN/RN in charge of the assigned unit.
- Communicates between units when assigned to a float position.
- Assists with duties on units
- Answer phone calls and direct to appropriate staff
- Coordinates and assists in scheduled activities for patients
- Assist in scanning medical information into ICON medical
- Ensure proper administration and documentation of medications
- Administer medications and treatments accurately
