Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in public relations, business, journalism, marketing, or a closely related field and experience equal to two years of full-time work planning and developing content for media dissemination; or a total of six years of education and/or full-time experience, where 30 semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in a related field equals one year of full-time experience.

This role is responsible for executing marketing programs, building strong partnerships, and telling Iowa’s story through content and media engagement.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Managing tourism marketing programs by coordinating partner-based initiatives, overseeing timelines and deliverables, and supporting program evaluation and improvement.
- Leading proactive media and influencer efforts, pitching Iowa tourism stories, supporting journalist and influencer engagement, and contributing to earned media reporting.
- Executing marketing campaigns and projects, serving as a project manager for assigned initiatives such as digital campaigns and publications, while coordinating vendors, partners, and internal teams.
- Developing compelling content by writing and editing marketing materials across platforms and traveling throughout Iowa to capture stories and promote tourism assets.
- Experience working with tourism, destination marketing, or economic development initiatives.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing marketing or media-focused content.
