What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electronics Technician position at State of Iowa - Executive Branch?
Job Description
Basic diagnosis repair & installation of electronic equipment.
Using appropriate test equipment ( phone toner, multi meter ).
In addition, trace point to point wiring and develop drawings, schematics and computer programs to document installation of new equipment and present wiring to control electro-mechanical door lock system.
Complete installation updates with assistance of professional engineers of microprocessor based systems intercom in house (Avaya phone systems, paging, audio and sensor based fence alarm systems, elevators and fire alarms
Train individual(s) in operation of electronic equipment systems to assure adequate backup is available.
Develop written theory or operation documents and put together operation manuals for security systems.
Train other staff to help in the preventative maintenance and repair of electronic systems.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Two years of post high school education with an emphasis in electronics, electronics maintenance, biomedical equipment technology or closely related areas;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of electronic repair, maintenance or electronic construction work experience for each year of the required education.
