What You’ll Do
As a Community Corrections Program Coordinator, you will:
- Develops, implements, coordinates, and oversees cognitive interventions and treatment programs in our district.
- Functions as a treatment/evidence-based practices expert for the Department.
- Collaborates with committees and work groups based on expertise of different programming areas to plan and implement initiatives and projects.
- Communicates and problem solves with justice-involved individuals and the people who support them.
- Documents and communicates participants; progress with participants, the courts, crime survivors, the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, probation and parole officers, and other referral sources.
- Researches, plans, implements and evaluates new and emerging evidence-based and promising interventions/programs and practices for justice-involved individuals in the community-based corrections setting.

- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to two years of full-time work in a human services or criminal justice field.
- A total of six years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
- Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes 18 months of fulltime work as a Probation/Parole Officer II or 30 months as a Community Corrections Program Manager in a district or a similar position in another jurisdiction or agency.
