Position Marketing Statement
- Under immediate supervision, for a period not to exceed six (6) months in a given calendar year, and while attending high school or college, assists with various Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) projects.
- Assists staff with various clerical support functions.
- Gains knowledge of work methods, procedures and related operations with emphasis on those areas directly related to the major area of college study when possible.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, conference and training seminars to gain knowledge of agency programs, objectives and mandates and utilizes this knowledge to complete assigned projects.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to enrollment in high school or college.
- Requires no previous work experience.
- Prefers prior experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Prefers prior experience utilizing general office equipment, i.e. copier for scanning/copying of documents.
- Requires a valid State ID.
- Requires the ability to pass a background check.
- Requires the ability to pass drug screening.
- This position is considered sedentary work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(a)). Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and requires occasional lifting, carrying, walking, and standing.
