Essential Functions
- Provide planning, implementation, and operational assistance in support of the department’s Records and Information Management (RIM) program within assigned areas of the department.
- Provide training regarding RIM processes in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for RIM process improvements.
- Develop periodic reports by gathering and analyzing data and information related to the RIM program.
- Assist with implementation, management, and testing plans to protect organizational vital records, mission-critical records, and information assets to protect business continuity plans.
- Communicate department policies while promoting the value of RIM principles and best practices.
- Perform duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Perform all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree majoring in Business, Public Information, Information Science, Library Science, Archives and Records Management, or Management Information Systems (MIS), OR Completion of two years of college PLUS two years of experience in the field of records and information management, OR Six years of experience in the field of records and information management.
- Professional certification such as Certified Records Analyst (CRA), Certified Records Manager (CRM), or Information Governance Professional (IGP).
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal records management regulations, retention schedules, and legal compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with electronic records management systems (ERMS), document imaging technologies, or enterprise content management platforms (e.g., DocuWare, SharePoint, OpenText).
- Experience leading or supporting large-scale transitions from hard copy to electronic records in a government or similarly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training to diverse user groups on RIM policies, procedures, and software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build cooperative relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels.
